Cabinet Bed FAQ’s

Cherry Cube Memory Foam Tri Fold Mattress

Q: Does the cabinet bed need to be mounted to the wall?

A: No, you will not need to mount the cabinet bed to the wall. The cabinet beds are heavy so it won’t slide on carpet or hardwood floors. This is a convenient feature if you ever decided to rearrange your room or if you are moving to a new home.

Q: How comfy is the mattress?

A: The mattress is a 6” Memory Foam Gel Mattress. In our storefront in Pennsylvania we have customers that are amazed at the comfortability of the mattress.

Q: What is the gel in the mattress?

A: There is a layer of gel in the mattresses that prevents the mattress from absorbing body heat, keeping it cool throughout the night.

Q: Can you feel the tri-folds in the mattress when laying down?

A: Not at all! When you lay down on the mattress you will not notice the tri-folds. We tested this out at our storefront. We put a sheet over the mattress and had people lay on them. They could not tell the difference between the regular mattress and the one with the tri-folds.

Q: What kind of wood are the beds made out of?

A: Depending on which brand you are looking at, the beds will either be made out of solid hardwood or plywood. If you know anything about cabinets, you would know that these are the two highest quality options you can get when purchasing furniture. Unlike a lot of other hide away beds, none of our cabinet beds use any particle board or MDF.

Q: How much weight can the beds support?

A: The manufacturer has a recommended a weight limit of 500 pounds on each bed.

Q: How much assembly is required?

A: All the beds are very easy to put together. They typically take between 30 and 45 minutes to assemble. We have instructional videos under the products on how to assemble each bed. These videos will guide you step-by-step through the process of assembling the bed.

Q: How thick is the mattress?

A: All of the mattresses are 6” thick. They have 4” of memory foam and 2” of gel.

Q: How far does the cabinet bed come off the wall when closed?

A: You can place the cabinet bed as close to the wall as possible. When the bed is in the cabinet, most of our selection will come two feet off the wall. Each bed we offer has a diagram of the dimensions in the description of the bed. Please take a look at the diagram before purchasing to know the exact measurement of the bed that you are interested in purchasing.

Q: Can you put a TV or pictures on the cabinet bed?

A: Yes, the Arason and Night & Day Cabinet Beds (other than the Cube Collection) have a back panel that doesn’t move when you open or close the bed. This section is big enough to fit a 55” TV and can also hold pictures or other decorations. You can put decorations on the cabinet beds in the Cube collection when closed, however, you will need to remove them in order to open the bed.

Q: Does the bed have to sit up against a wall?

A: No, the bed is free standing. You can place the bed in the middle of the room if you desire. The bed is designed to not move on any surface.

Q: Is the mattress a standard queen size?

A: Yes, the mattress is a standard queen size. Standard queen size sheets will work perfectly.

Q: Can the mattress be folded up with the sheets and comforter?

A: Yes and no. Yes, the mattress can be folded up with the sheets. No, it cannot be folded up with the comforter. The comforter is too bulky and doesn’t allow the mattress to fold up properly. This is where the underneath storage drawers (that come standard with all cabinet bed except the Cube Collection) come in handy.

Q: Can you use your own tri-fold mattress?

A: Yes, you can absolutely use your own tri-fold mattress. If you have a mattress that you feel works better for you, then go ahead and try it out on the cabinet bed. We recommend using mattresses that are 6" or 7" thick so you still have room to close the bed. A mattress that is too thick will not fit in the closed up cabinet.

Q: Do the underneath drawers have rollers?

A: Yes, they do. This makes it easy for anyone to roll out the drawers. The rollers are designed to work on all surfaces, including carpet. You may have to adjust the levelers on the cabinet bed depending on the thickness of your carpet (this is an easy step and explained in the instruction manuals).

Q: How many boxes does the bed come in?

A: The Night & Day Beds come in one box for the bed and one box for the mattress. Arason Beds have one box total for the bed and mattress. The mattress comes vacuum sealed with both beds. With the Arason Bed, the vacuum sealed mattress is sitting within the pre-assembled portion of the bed.

Q: Which beds include storage drawers?

A: All the Arason Cabinet Beds and Night and Day Cabinet Beds include storage drawers, except for the Cube collection. The storage drawers are large enough to store the comforter, sheets, and pillows.

Q: Which beds include USB ports?

A: The Clover, Daisy, Sagebrush, and Poppy collections all come with USB ports. The USB features makes it easy to place your bed since you will no longer need to worry about blocking a wall outlet. Simply plug the cord into the outlet and the USB port will have electricity. The USB port comes in handy for charging phones or if you want to have a light on your fold up trays.

Q: Why are some beds more expensive than others even though the functionalities are the same?

A: Some of the beds (like the Sagebrush and Poppy collections) have the same functionalities but slightly different prices. This is because the cost for the finishes are different making certain collections more expensive to create.

Q: Can assembly be done with one person or is two needed?

A: All our cabinet beds are designed to have limited assembly. This is not one of those projects where there are a million different pieces. Whether you need a 2nd person depends on the bed. The Cube collection can be assembled by one person. The other Night & Day Bed and Arason Beds will require a 2nd person for parts of the assembly process.

Q: How does the mattress ship?

A: The mattress will ship with the cabinet bed in a 2nd box. The mattress is rolled up and vacuum sealed. We recommend laying the mattress out and allowing it to “fluff up” for 24 hours.

Q: How long does my order take to ship?

A: As soon as your order is placed, we process the order and prepare your cabinet bed to ship. Orders ship within 1-3 business days.

Q: What is the transit time?

A: We have warehouses on both the east and west coast to ensure quick delivery times. We work with many LTL (less than truckload) Freight companies so we can choose a carrier with a quick transit time to your area. Transit is typically 2-5 business days (this can vary based on location).

Q: Do I need to be home to take receipt of the bed?

A: Yes, someone will need to be home to sign off for the bed. The shipping company will call you once the cabinet bed arrives at the destination terminal to schedule delivery. You can choose a day/time that works best for you.
